Ouachita Loop MIS Study Alternatives

Project consultants formulated alternative roadway alignments for the Ouachita Loop MIS.  Each roadway segment was given a letter designation.  Combinations of the lettered segments give a total of 26 alternative locations (click here to view a map of these alternatives).   For this MIS, two of the alternative locations were examined for comparative purposes. 

Alternative Location #1: 

This alternative location was placed to take maximum advantage of existing roads.   The lettered segments that form this alternative location are ABDFJLMOPRVW.   Lettered segments that utilize existing roads are: A (Millhaven Road/State Highway 594 - 100%); B (Love Road/State Highway 594 - approx. 50%); F (Finks Hideaway Road - approx. 33%); M (Arkansas Road/Cheniere Drew Road - approx. 50%); O (Cheniere Drew Road - approx 86%); P (Caples Road - approx. 15%); R (Caples Road - approx 48%); and V (Buckhorn Bend Loop Road/Richwood Road No. 2 - approx. 53%).

Alternative Location #2

This alternative location would require new roadway construction for most of the Loop.   The lettered segments that form this alternative location are ACDEHKLNOQSUW.   Lettered segments that utilize existing roads are: A (Millhaven Road/State Highway 594 - 100%), and O (Cheniere Drew Road - approx. 86%).
