Here's Some Statistics For You

Research from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) reveals that many drivers don't pay attention to the warning signs in highway work zones.  Moreover, this research indicates these drivers aren't concerned about worker safety and still drive too fast in these areas despite posted warning signs.  The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) and the FHWA want to make highway work zones safer for workers as well as motorists.   That will only happen with the cooperation of motorists.  Don't risk your life or the lives of highway workers to save a few minutes.  Be alert, slow down, and pay attention to the signs in work zones.
